Chichicastenango, or "Chichi," is renowned for hosting the largest and most vibrant indigenous market in Central America every Thursday and Sunday. It is a major center for K'iche' Maya culture and religious syncretism, featuring colorful textiles, traditional handicrafts, and the historic 400-year-old Santo Tomás Church where Maya rituals are practiced.
